I’m sure you’ve tried a bunch of ideas to get more out of your day.
Here’s yet another one for you in the theme of keeping your business simple.
Cut your to-do list down to just 2 or 3 things per day.
I tried the 6 things list before and what I found was that at least 2 or 3 things kept being pushed back to the next day anyway and I felt less than great about that.
Now, I am working on being even more realistic about what I can do with my time. If I can consistently do 2 important things that I planned to do and occasionally complete a third or fourth, I’m on top of the world!
Just make sure that the 2 or 3 things are important things that will bring long-lasting benefits and not just firefighting.
Try to get as accurate a perception of reality as you can, determine your priorities, complete the top 2 or 3 action items every day and you’ll be on your way to doing more with fewer to-do items.

I remember hearing people brag about how they worked a twelve hour day on their home-run business. That is fine, but I really question what you consider “work” if you have time to make about fifteen half-page forum posts and browse the internet.
I think being very selective about what you consider to be “work” will allow you to focus only on those things. By having this broad catagory of what you define as work, you end up doing a bunch of unimportant and easy tasks while neglecting the important stuff.
